Just How Long Until Your FB Post Goes.........STALE?

Any comprehensive brand strategy includes social media. As strategic marketing specialists, we help ensure that our clients are able to leverage all appropriate social media tools in their marketing and advertising plan. However, this can be daunting to even the most dedicated brand manager. How much? How often? Where? Who will manage etc. etc. etc. are all questions that are constantly tossed around.
For instance, AdAge asks and answers: How long does it take for a Facebook post to get stale? About 1 hour and 20 minutes. Yep, that's not very long and means no rest for the weary brand. So in order to maximize your brand exposure, post every hour and twenty minutes - and leave it for up to 22 hours when 95% of your audience will see and comment/like if they are so inclined.
And what about Twitter? AdAge reports that approximately 95% of all tweets are retweeted within one hour. The microblog happens at lightning speed and in real-time. If you're going to jump in here, be sure you have the dedicated bodies to feed that beast.
It is important to note that leveraging the social media universe can be done and can be done well, regardless of the size of your company. It does require a dedicated team member and constant education on how to best exploit this ever evolving marketing opportunity. Bottom line is that even if you're not perfect at it, a post or two becomes stale, you're still ahead of the game by engaging your consumer.
