I’m mad as hell too, and I’m not going to take it anymore.

As you know, we are all about responsible thinking around here.
But if the events of the last month in Washington D.C. aren’t the poster child for irresponsible thinking, I don’t know what is.
I hate where our country is today politically.
Most everyone lives somewhere in the middle with varying degrees of right and left leanings.
But extremists in both parties have hijacked our political process.
There seems to be no concern for what’s best for America. Politicians now go to Washington, not so much to do the public’s bidding but to make sure they make the other side’s” life hell and insure they don’t get re-elected.
My friend Ron Marshall and I were chatting on our ferry ride into Seattle Monday and he said, “What can we do? We’re screwed.”
That got me to thinking and the thinking got me to this blog.
I feel like my generation, the Baby Boomers, has lost our fight.
We marched in the streets to protest Vietnam. We did grassroots campaigning for people we believed in, we stood side by side with minorities protesting their treatment and the status quo.
What’s happened to us? We became complacent, the very thing we criticized our parents for in the 60’s and early 70’s.ZAX
And as a result, here we are, right back with the same problems we used to rail against.
So I am calling out my fellow Boomers who think we can’t do anything, to do something.
Send your representatives and senators emails everyday. Harass them unmercifully.
I have attached a link to a You Tube video. Watch it.
Send it to them. Put a boot in their collective rear ends.
I sent it to the White House and John Boehner’s office.
I’m going to send it every week until I get a response that isn’t canned.
And then if all else fails, support people with a sense of responsibility with your vote.
Better yet, run for office if you have the stomach for it.
We could stand a little responsible thinking and doing in this country.
