This past year has brought us some exceptional social media campaigns, iMedia highlights what they deem have been the best of the best. Amongst the noteworthy are:
- Bing gained 425,000 Facebook fans within 24 hours – and then put them to use.
- When Ford revealed its 2011 Explorer on Facebook, the results were stronger than a Super Bowl ad.
- Levi’s brought its jeans to Facebook and allowed people to shop online with their friends without ever leaving their chairs.
And PepsiCo, after announcing taking the year off from Super Bowl advertising for philanthropic purposes, ran a social media campaign to solicit customer-made ideas for the 2011 event. This video reveals what has made Super Bowl spots successful over the past 20 years. Think babies, animals and pretty women. Surprised?
