It’s my turn to share my favorite advertising movie. This movie was filmed long before I was born, but it’s still my favorite. My dad loves Jack Lemmon and growing up, we always watched Jack Lemmon movies on rainy Seattle Sundays. My favorite has always been the 1964 movie, Good Neighbor Sam starring Jack Lemmon as Sam Bissel, a forgettable member of the advertising art department of a San Francisco Advertising Agency. That is until he saves his bosses in front of a client and instantly becomes the hero of the agency and of the client, Nurdlinger Dairy Farms. Once he’s put in charge of the account, his personal life and professional life collide in a big way and the next hour of the movie is fabulous as all the people in Sam’s world try to keep a secret while making the best out of the predicament they’re in and still let Sam keep his job. The even better news about this movie: they are finally releasing it on DVD for the first time in December. This is a great holiday gift for your favorite advertising fanatic. What is your favorite Advertising Movie?
