Strong Use of Outdoor, right here in Seattle

Lisa Dahlby, Project Manager/Stanton & Everybody

I was driving from Ballard back to downtown last night and saw some of the best use of outdoor I have in recent memory. The new Alaska Air campaign promoting their non-stop flights from Seattle to Houston/Atlanta/Austin are clean, bold and easily understood. The billboards and transit are the same and each feature a Seattle icon on the left vs one from the destination city featured on the right. For example, Seattle to Houston has a yellow rain boot for us and a cowboy boot for Houston. Seattle to Atlanta has a red apple and a peach. Simple, clean, obvious.

So often, outdoor is crowded, dark and really hard to comprehend while zooming by at 35 to 65 mph. And with everything else a driver is distracted by in her car, you certainly don't have much time to hold her attention. It's also nice to see strong creative done right here in Seattle. I think this market gets ignored sometimes and work is taken elsewhere.

And a shout out to the media team too, nice placement down 15th. They build on one another perfectly.

*** I have yet to see the Seattle to Austin one. Anyone know what the icons are?
