Lynne Featherstone, the equalities minister in the UK, is cracking down on the unfair pressure that young girls have to be skinny based on airbrushed photos and photoshop. The coalition government has also put the fashion industry under the microscope to put a stop to unrealistic body images in advertising and magazines. Featherstone highlights Mad Men actress Christina Hendricks as the ideal role model for girls. She wants to see more woman of different shapes and sizes in magazines to increase their self confidence. Who is your favorite role model for young girls? Why?
